CLTA-WA Fall Workshop

CLTA-WA Workshop: Task-based Instructional Activities to Maximize Language Learning with Authentic Material and Reading Aloud

Join us for a day of instruction and collaboration with Dr. Cynthia Ning, Professor of University of Hawaii, author of Encounters and Communicating in Chinese, and Director of the UH Confucius Institute and Stratal Summer Programs. This event is co-sponsored by the Confucius Institute of the State of Washington, University of Puget Sound and the Washington Association for Language Teaching. WAFLT will provide six clock hours.

Refreshments will be provided. Participants are advised to bring their own lunch.

10:30am -12:00pm Developing literacy through extensive reading

12:00pm – 1:00pm Lunch

1:00pm – 1:50pm Developing literacy through extensive reading, Continued

2:00pm – 4:00pm  Task-based instruction: Theory and a language-learning experience
