The Confucius Institute of the State of Washington was a cosponsor of the eighth Dual Language Immersion Boot Camp for Educators on Wednesday, August 23, 2017 at McDonald International School in Seattle. The Dual Language Immersion Boot Camp is an opportunity for educators new to dual language/immersion programs (whether starting one or planning one) to learn from experienced teachers and administrators about the critical features you need to know from the very beginning.

This year’s Boot Camp welcomed teachers from Seattle, Tacoma, Franklin Pierce School District, and Issaquah School District. Everyone enjoyed the opportunity to network and learn from each other. As usual, we planned for two language demos, one in Spanish and one in Mandarin. Unfortunately, our Mandarin demo teacher had jury duty! So, we shared a couple of excellent video clips from other Mandarin Dual Language Immersion programs:
